Overview of PlayLab research

  1. *Most of our present research is about social learning that unfolds within interactions between children and their caregivers and older peers.

  1. *We are interested in discovering what infants and young children learn from these interactions, and how they do this.

  1. *We aim to figure out how children watch and listen, act and speak, play and develop their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

  1. *Our past study topics included rapid word learning, imitation, and toy-directed play in infants aged between 6 and 18 months old.

  1. *Over 500 babies (and as many parents) from all over North Wales kindly volunteered their time and took part in our research so far.
